Digital cameras have different features depending on the make and model of the digital camera. The difference in features, will increase or decrease the cost of the digital camera. The more advanced the digital camera becomes, the more it can do, the more expensive the camera will be. Some features and functions, may be an essential to have, while others are not worth the additional price. Some of the most common features on digital cameras are:
Auto focus and exposure
Each digital camera will be different on how advanced these features are. Digital cameras are very automated, however some do offer the option of turning off auto focus and focusing manually instead. Some cameras will also allow for very specific settings to be changed, for instance the shutter, aperture, or the which scene mode to use.
Video features with audio included
Some digital cameras will allow for videos, however there will be no sound added to the video. Other cameras have sound included and the camera works almost identical to a regular video camera. The more advanced digital cameras will allow for settings to be changed in the video mode as well.
Flash is usually always included on most digital cameras. However, how many options and features added to the flash will vary.
Memory cards are hat digital cameras use. The type of memory card it can hold may vary, however typically a SD card is used.
Zoom lenses are usually built into the cameras and these may be a simple zoom feature with a touch of a button or it can be more advanced and offer a zoom lens that is similar to what a 35 millimeter camera has. A newer zoom feature is that the lens does come out, away from the camera. Instead the function is built in and the camera lens adjusts without any actual movement.
