There of course are dozens of makes and models of laptops available. The screen comes in different sizes, the keyboards are different, some have touch screens, while others feature build in cameras. Depending on what is needed, will determine what type of laptop to purchase. Some features are not as necessary as others, however there are a few things to keep in mind with any laptops that are looked at to purchase.
The memory or RAM
How much does it come with? Depending on what laptops are used for this is extremely important. There should be enough memory so that the system does not become bogged down and slow, as well as it can grow as necessary. If there will be a lot of photo, video and image files on the laptop, the more memory that will be needed. Also, laptops that are used for trading or gaming need more RAM.
Hard Drives
Hard drives are very important and making sure that it can retain enough information is equally as important. However, there is no reason for over kill either. This increases the cost of laptops and if it really will not be used to it’s fullest capacity, there is no reason to spend the extra dollars on it. Again, laptops that are used for photos, editing, images, videos and other large media files do need to have a larger hard drive. However, laptops that are used for going on line mainly and some text documents can use standard hard drive without a problem and have plenty of space.
Processor
The processor or CPU can increase the speed of laptops, depending on which one is purchased. However, make sure the processor matches the RAM and hard drive too. A fast CPU will not be as fast if there is not enough hard drive space or memory. The more muti-tasking that is done on laptops, the faster the CPU should be. This also includes again a lot of images, photos and video editing need a faster CPU.
